Review

   -Replay: 8/10

-Definitely replayable, but probably would take a bit of a break after

completion before one would want to reply it. Can get boring at

points. Also a plus that it has so many of the classic Sonic Games

in it.

   -Fun: 8/10

-Most all of the levels were a blast, except a couple things (like Big’s

levels) that were kind of taxing.

   -Intensity: 8/10

-Sonic, Tails, E-102 are all very fast paced and tons of fun. Knuckles and

Big are not going to be intense, and Amy’s level are slower but

it’s all a chase so the adrenaline still pumps.

   -Mind Challanging: 7/10

-This game has a field world where you walk around and have to figure

some stuff out.

   -User Friendly: 9/10

-This game is playable by everyone. Not to intense or challenging that

kids won’t be able to enjoy it, but also has a lot of fun stuff for older

audience. Plus rated E, so that’s good.

   -Overall: 8/10

-A must buy, expeically for the bonus games. Enjoyable, but from

experience not a 10/10 sonic game.

Game Length: About 75 hours to totally beat it, if you move fast.

Comments: Originally made for the dreamcast (and longer ago then I can remember), this game was the big thing for Sonic, featuring a truly stunning 3-D environment and adventure. Plus all the added bonus’s in the directors cut, the game gear games I am reffering to, make this a MUST BUY. The graphics are good, as well as the animation (except Sonic talking, he looks really messed up when he does that). Basically the layout of the game is thus: Robotnik wants to destroy Station Square by using CHOAS, a morphing beast that grows stronger with each chaos emerald. But I love the game, of course, I love all Sonic games, but it’s a good one!

Sonic Levels: Sonic’s levels are the classic get to the end style. He can use his spin, his homing attack, nad with upgrades his light dash. The levels are designed to be a lot of fun and fasted pace, with tons of speed boosts, and different challenges. Not as intense as in Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, but still will keep you awake. The first challenge is to get to the end. The second challenge is to get to the end with 50 rings, and the third is to get to the end under a certain time (love those time missions).

Tails’ Levels: Many are the same as Sonic’s levels, because Tails tags along. These missions are also about pure speed, most of which being to beat Sonic to the end. This makes it fun because you can use your flying to really go out on a limb and find some sweet shortcuts. They aren’t really hard, but it’s more fun than difficulty. The second mission of these is to collect 50 rings and beat sonic (or whoever), the third mission is to beat an even faster apponent.

Knuckles’ Levels: Knuckles comes out with a classic theme: find the missing emerald pieces. You’ll see this style reappear in Sonic Adventure 2. Anyways, you fly around, use the indicator to find the pieces, simple, right? Well, if you know how to do it, the levels can be rather easy. Otherwise it may be a bit of a challenge for you. I’m more about speed anyways. His second mission is to collect 50 rings and then the emerald pecies (seeing a pattern, anyone?), and the third is to collect the pieces in a limited amount of time (this can be really challenging, so get ready).

Amy’s Levels: The ever annoying Amy. Slower in this game than in any other (if you ask me), her levels can be a bit like running from an avalanche in 5 feet of snow. The point of her missions is to evade ZERO, a capture robot. The thing that stinks is your so slow, but it’s easy because Zero isn’t that fast neither, and you can always wack him with your piko piko hammer. Overall slow, but still fun because your being chased. The second challenge is (see if you can guess it) collect 50 rings and finish the level (surprise surprise), and the third is to make it to the end in a limited amount of time.

Bigs’ Levels: Bigs, the cat who’s size of body is inversely proportionate to the size of his brain. This simple creature’s missions are all about one thing: Fishing. Yes, you get to fish for your friend, Froggy (why that frog puts up with him jabbing a fish hook through his mouth is beyond me). You go around to the levels, find your friend, and fish him out. This can be rather uneventful. The second challenge for these levels are (and surpringly it’s NOT collect 50 rings) is to catch a 1000g fish and then froggy, and thirdly to catch a 2000g fish and then froggy (this is by far a real challenge, and very very frusterating).

E-102 Betta’s Levels: Here’s to all you shoot em’ up fans. Betta’s levels consist of flying through the level and blasting everything you can lock your laser onto. These are intense missions as there’s a lot of explosions going on around you, plus you have a timer, and also fun missions because, well, there’s a lot of explosions and you have a timer. The second mission is get 50 rings and finish the level, and the third is once again a time mission.

Extras: This is what I love, a game with extras. Not only is there the emerald bit, but there’s also missions and mini games, and of course the lovable Chao raising. Every level has their 3 challenges which can add a lot of gameplay to your game. After you accomplish all of that, you also have 60 missions that you can find and complete, which is a whole new adventure in itself. A wide variety of sub-games like the sand hill, the tornado and tornado 2 fights, go kart racing, and a couple more. The Chao raising is also fun, and there are 5 races to complete. The best extra is, of course, the EXTREME amount of Sonic Game Gear games that you get from gaining emblems and missions. This is pretty much every single game gear game for Sonic, and it’s worth every emblem and mission.

Should I buy it?: Oh yes! Lots of game play hours, a variety of challenges, and a massive load of classic and rare game gear games, it would be dumb not to!
