Game: Sonic Adventure 2: Battle Platform: GameCube Date: 2/11/02 (US) Rating: E Review -Replay: 10/10 -I just finished it, and I’m already tempted to play it again, It’s THAT good! Never boring at all, and tons to do! -Fun: 10/10 -I couldn’t put my wavebird controller down. Stunning graphics, \ awesome layout, challenging and crazy! -Intensity: 10/10 -You want intense? This game combines super fast speeds, tons of enemies, plus some EXTREME stunts, and cool rail grinding thanks to SOAP shoes. The time missions are equally extreme, you’ll get the equivalent of a 30 minute work out your heart will be pumping so fast (okay, don’t take that as literal, you’ll still get fat from being lazy). BUT, I’m serious, this is an INTENSE gameplay. -Mind Challanging: 6/10 -There isn’t as much puzzle in this game, It’s more about moving fast, shooting or hitting everything, and looking good doing it. Strict level gameplay, unlike DX. -User Friendly: 7/10 -This game isn’t for the beginner gamer, it takes a lot of fast reflexes and ability to think on your feet. Play DX first, if you can do that, then try this, but it will take some practice in order to really master it. -Overall: 10/10 -Although I haven’t played a lot of the games at the time I’m writing this, this will always be one of my favorites. If you don’t have this, WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?!?! Get it!

Game Highlights: 30 Missions 5 Challenges per mission Go Kart Mini Game AWESOME two player games Intense Action Unlockable 3-D Green Hills Level (worth the hassle)
Game Length: Took me 96 hours to totally beat, most of which on chao raising.
Comments: Like I said above, I love this game. Expecially since Sonic and Shadow are sporting SOAP shoes. The deal with that went that Sonic Team made the game, and then found out after that the grind plate on the shoes had a trademark by SOAP. That’s why you see SOAP banners all over, it was the deal for using the patented shoes. I own a pair myself. Anyways, the game was more addicting than any other (except the knuckles and rouge missions, they were a bit to slow for me). Sonic and Shadow’s missions were the most intense because you had to really use your skill and ingenuity to find the fastest route and get the most points, while still looking good doing it. Tails and Eggman had some fun shoot it up missions as well. But seriously, if you don’t have this game, you need to get it.
Sonic/Shadow Levels: Fast Fast FAST. You really can’t blink during some of the action, as you speed through with super speeds, fly through the air and just manage to latch onto a rail. Grinding, rolling, running, and flying, you do it all with these nonstop action missions.
Tails/Eggman Levels: Lock and Load, these mission are all about getting as many things in your scope nad letting a barrage of missiles out. Both use a walker machine with lock on laser that you activate and lock onto multiple targets, and with a simple let go of the button a volley of missles scramble to destroy the targets. These missions aren’t fast in speed, but intenst because everything is blowing up. I like things blowing up, fire makes me happy.
Knuckles/Rouge Levels: Classic “find the emerald pieces” layout. 3 things to find, with an indicator, hints, etc. I’m not a big fan of these, but they are challenging, and the time trials make it so you HAVE to move fast during them.
Extras: Doesn’t have as much extra stuff like SADX, but still has it’s own. For instance, it has a MASSIVE 2-player battle area, where there is foot races, karate, cart racing, rail racing, boarding, and more! Also, if you get every emblem, you unlock a 3-D version of Green Hills, the first level of the first sonic game. It’s really cool if you remember the level, because you are like “Oh I remember that part!” it’s really fun, I have a video of it, but you really should earn and play the level yourself. There is also chao raising, which demands a lot, read the “raising chao for dummies” guide if you want to beat the races and get all the emblems.
Should I buy it? No…JUST KIDDING. Of COURSE you should buy this game, I gaurentee you won’t be bored with it. Get it. If you don’t have a gamecube, GET ONE, and THEN get this game. |
